How do I know if my breastfed or formula-fed baby needs a vitamin D supplement?

Many pediatricians recommend that exclusively breastfed babies take a vitamin D supplement from day one in order to ensure they are getting the recommended dose of 400 IU per day. Many formula-fed babies get enough vitamin D from their formula intake. It’s best to check with your pediatrician to find out what is best for your baby.

How do I give Vitamin D Drops to my baby, and how often should I give it to them?

Shake the bottle well before each use. Tip the bottle upside down 2-3 times before removing the cap. Place one drop onto the nipple or pacifier, or mix with milk, juice, or food.
