Wellements Honest Reviews
Amazing supplement
We have a very picky 2 year old who became iron deficient at his last checkup. The pediatrician ordered a supplement that ended up tasting nasty and my son started refusing it even when mixed with juice or applesauce. We started him on this and he loves it! Calls it his ‘juice’ and takes it easily from the syringe- I don’t have to mix it with anything! Overall super happy with this product and knowing it's made with better ingredients than the other stuff makes me happy.

Love this liquid iron
I have a 2 year old who is an extremely picky eater and has rejected all the other iron or multivite with iron supplements I’ve tried. I’m able to hide this liquid iron in his milk without him noticing! Great peace of mind being able to get some iron in him!

Best iron product
When my Littles‘ iron level drop they have massive tantrums. This has been a life saver for our family! These drops are just as good as the ones I would get prescriptions for from their pediatrician, but I feel much better giving them these.

What Parents Are Asking
Are Wellements Organic Iron Drops safe for my baby?
Yes! We've carefully selected a source of iron that is known for its long history of safety, bioavailability and for being easy on your baby’s tummy. Wellements not only strictly complies with all FDA regulations for dietary supplements we thoroughly test our products for safety including heavy metals, microbials as well as raw material purity and potency before we send it off to your family. We always recommend talking to your pediatrician first before giving any iron or any supplement to your little one.
How long can I keep my bottle of Wellements Organic Iron Drops?
Check the ‘best by’ date on the bottle to know how long to keep an unopened bottle. An opened bottle should be used or discarded 3 months after opening.
My baby’s mouth has changed color after giving them Wellements Organic Iron Drops!
A baby’s tongue can stain from iron dropsdue to a harmless chemical reaction between the iron, saliva, and the pigments in food. This happens because iron can oxidize when exposed to the air in the mouth, creating temporary dark spots or discoloration. This staining is usually temporary and fades once the iron drops are discontinued or after a short period.
Will iron stain my toddler’s teeth?
Iron in liquid supplements or food can react with sulfur compounds (like hydrogen sulfide) in the mouth to form an insoluble ferric compound. This new compound adheres to the surface of the enamel, creating a brownish or blackish discoloration. This can happen not only with drops but also with iron-fortified formulas and cereals that babies may consume. To prevent iron staining on teeth, rinse your little one’s mouth with water immediately after taking it and/or brush their teeth soon after consumption to remove any residue. Regular dental checkups can also help prevent and address staining.
Can organic iron drops be added to formula or milk?
We generally don't recommend mixing our Wellements Organic Iron Drops with water or milk without talking to your pediatrician first. We want to ensure the effectiveness of our drops and mixing with certain foods and drinks, specifically, dairy, may interfere with iron absorption or may give your baby more than their daily requirement.
How do I give Wellements Iron Drops to my little one?
Shake the bottle well before each use. Fill the dispenser with Organic Iron Drops to the 1 ml line. Dispense the liquid slowly toward the inner cheek of your baby’s mouth. Wash and dry the dispenser thoroughly after each use. Make sure to rinse the mouth after taking and for toddlers with teeth rinse and/or brush their teeth after taking.
Will Wellements Organic Iron Drops cause constipation in my baby?
Iron can sometimes cause constipation. To help with this make sure your little one is getting enough fluids and if they're old enough for solids, be sure they are eating fiber-rich foods like prunes, pears, and apples. Check out Wellements Organic Constipation Support which has organic prunes to keep things moving and always check with your pediatrician if constipation becomes an issue.
When should I start giving my baby Iron?
Deciding if and when to supplement iron should always be discussed with your pediatrician first as it depends on several factors including whether your little one is breastfed or formula-fed, birth weight and health concerns. Exclusively breastfed infants typically do not need an iron supplement until around 4 months old when the iron stores that they're born with begin to decrease. Most infant formulas are fortified with iron, so formula-fed babies typically get enough iron from their diet and do not need additional supplementation.
Should I give iron drops to my baby in the morning or at night?
Ultimately, the best time to give Wellements Orgainc Iron Drops is when it fits comfortably into your baby’s routine and is well-tolerated by them. Here are a few things to consider. Iron is typically absorbed best on an empty stomach so before breakfast may be a good time to try. However, if you notice any stomach upset or fussiness afterwards, giving iron drops after breakfast or with a little food may be a better option. Nighttime can also be a great option and easy to remember as part of a bedtime routine. Once you find the best fit consistency is key! If you're unsure be sure to check with your pediatrician on what's best for your little one.
